The Art of Sculpting
Currently being in burnout from creating a portfolio, I've decided to take a break via using an entirely new media in a realm of very different design principles: 3D design. Taking Morgana into different illustrations brings life on a 2D plane, but to bring the character to life as a whole, multiple types of design should be used. Typically, there are three realms of design: 2D, 3D, and 4D. Since I don't have the capability nor the patience to animate, I figured sculpting would be a fun addition to my collection. Despite never owning an anime figurine, I absolutely love them. Lots of them use transparent materials, detailed character designs, and action poses that seem to be frozen in time, impossibly standing still. They are beautiful, and I would love to have one of my own character.
New Obstacles
Because sculpting is quite new to me, this SI will be the most challenging and time consuming yet. Not only will I be fighting gravity with an action figurine pose, but I will be struggling to figure out how to sculpt resin and possibly wax. Thankfully, there are some artists who have sculpted figurines, and I will try to imitate their techniques. So far I have started working on the magical ladle so I can then determine the size of the figure.
